Palaty is the first gallery to officially represent Russia at PAD in Paris. A collection of new and unique objects has been created especially for the occasion, which seek to capture the essence of Russian culture and its enduring influence on contemporary design and art practices. The unifying theme of all the works is the regional culture of Russia, in particular the culture and heritage of Kuban.

This work is a reflection on how the ornaments of time and cultural layers intertwine within a single geographical space. It examines how peoples replace one another—whether in harmony or conflict — leaving traces in the common fabric of history. The physical merges with the spiritual, creating a new quality. Each brings their treasures: traditions, legends, rituals. Some things thin out and fade away, while others take root and become part of the next cycle, forming a symbiosis that grows into the future. Just as a tree adds rings year after year, memory absorbs the imprints of eras, enriching the pattern of our heritage. It is important for me to explore these roots, tracing how one phenomenon transforms into another, how invisible connections weave into the fabric of time. In the work, the resonance of history is reflected in the dialogue of materials. Soft layers of wool coexist with the hard surface of oak, delicate silk threads are replaced by the coarser fibers of nettle and linen. Local coarse wool intertwines with fibers of the finest merino and wild silk brought from afar. Thus, a unique pattern of time is formed. Thus, our genetic memory is shaped. Thus, we become who we are.

RO product & DA product, CCF/ Couture Cabinet Fil 2024
The CCF side table is a unique interpretation of the serial FIL model from RO product, created in collaboration with DA product for the PAD exhibition in Paris. This functional piece of furniture combines modesty with limitless possibilities: it can serve as an unobtrusive addition to the interior or as a bold accent. Opening the drawer immerses you in a world of fantasies and historical references, including Van Gogh's Parisian period and Kuban culture. The contrasting materials and the harmony of craftsmanship with industrial design give the side table its unique expressiveness. The main structure features a rectangular pull-out drawer with a mirrored surface and a rotating mechanism, creating an effect of poetic simplicity. Equipped with wheels, the console is easy to maneuver, and its minimalist design allows it to adapt to any space.

IRINA RAZUMOVSKAYA, FERTILE EARTHS 2025
Fertile Earths explores transformation, vulnerability, and the tension between strength and fragility. Three ceramic vessels rise from the form of a human torso, shifting from flat to full, their shapes evolving as if marked by time. This quiet progression suggests cycles of change—growth, tension, and the weight of unspoken experiences. The surface of each vessel is raw and cracked, resembling a parched, fractured landscape. Beneath these ruptures, a flesh-colored interior emerges, blurring the line between body and earth, between what is seen and what is concealed. The cracks expose something living, unsettling in its quiet insistence. This work is both personal and universal. It speaks to the hidden aspects of transformation—creation and loss, presence and absence, the delicate balance between holding together and falling apart. The vessels, more than containers, become sites of rupture, where history, emotion, and material intersect. Ceramic, with its dual nature—fragile yet enduring—becomes a metaphor for these tensions. Fertile Earths reflects on the forces that shape us, the structures that sustain or fail us, and the traces left behind when surfaces break and deeper truths are revealed.

LAROQUE ST*, DAIMON 03 2024
DAIMON 03 is a carpet from the Daimon collection. The name refers to the ancient Greek concept of a daimon, a being connecting the earthly and the divine. The dynamic shape of the carpet resembles the wings of a seagull, which become a reference to the Sea. Kuban is a place where culture , traditions, the free spirit of the plain and the sea meet. DAIMON 03 is the spirit of the sea: it soars, aspires to the horizon, but remains part of the earth. Its form is a metaphor for a soul wandering between the elements and the boundary of two worlds. It is an eternal desire for movement, for freedom, an image of impulse. It's the wind in the sails, the glitter of the wave, the shadow of a seagull on the sand.

IRINA RAZUMOVSKAYA, TRYPTICH 2021
Irina Razumovskaya’s TRIPTYCH reimagines the traditional Russian icon, transforming its sacred form into a meditation on time, memory, and cultural loss. Made from thick ceramic slabs, the work echoes the structure of religious altarpieces but appears aged and fragmented, as if worn by history. The textured surfaces—cracked, crumbling, and eroded—suggest the gradual decay of once-stable beliefs. Experimental glazes create the effect of faded, fire-scorched, and weathered surfaces, evoking both ancient relics and urban ruins. Through these material transformations, Razumovskaya explores the tension between permanence and fragility, preservation and disappearance. In TRIPTYCH, the spiritual weight of traditional iconography meets the stark reality of cultural instability. The work reflects on how history is shaped and reshaped over time, questioning what remains when identities and beliefs begin to dissolve. Drawing on her own experiences and broader socio-political changes, Razumovskaya creates a space between devotion and uncertainty, inviting viewers to reflect on the shifting nature of truth and memory.

ALEXANDRA LAPAEVA, THERE 2025
There is no time, no familiar coordinates. There is only the sensation of dissolving into an eternal, unhurried flow. Perhaps t his is the very place we seek throughout our lives, unconsciously striving for harmony and tranquility. The images of this world are merely echoes of our own hopes and dreams. Each person thinks of THERE in their own way, creating their own landscape of peace. It might be an endless field of blooming meadows bathed in the soft light of sunset, or a quiet ocean shore where the waves gently whisper of eternity, or mighty mountains whose peaks reach for the sky, as if in prayer for the sublime. And the path to this THERE lies through self-awareness, through letting go of the hustle and petty concerns. It is a journey inward, to the roots of one’s soul where true meaning of existence can be found. And perhaps THERE will become not just a dream but a reality accessible at any moment in life.

MILANA KHALILOVA, THYPHHE 2025
"Тхыпхъэ" (Thyphhe) in the Circassian language means "embroidery." The work focuses on finding new interpretations of Circassian culture, freeing it from stereotypes and integrating it into contemporary art. The artist explores traditional heritage through modern artistic practices, emphasizing its universal values. The central subject of her research is Adyghe gold embroidery (dysha ide) as a complex visual and material text. Milana pays special attention to women's crafts as a cultural archive that reflects social roles and collective memory. By analyzing the visual codes of textiles, the artist uncovers hidden narratives and examines the transformation of cultural identity through traditional techniques such as felt-making. Her project’s aim to reinterpret Circassian visual heritage, integrate it into the global cultural dialogue and translate traditional practices into the language of contemporary media. By combining authentic techniques with experimental artistic strategies, the artist explores identity, memory, and cultural dynamics, revealing new facets of Circassian culture in contemporary art.
