COLLECTIBLE BRUSSELS 2025

Palaty Gallery presented visual illusions at the Collectible exhibition in Brussels

For the first time, Palaty Gallery has taken part in the prestigious Collectible exhibition in Brussels from 12 to 16 March 2025. At its stand, the gallery will present a collection of unique objects built on the concept of visual illusion and deceptive associations.

The exposition is based on playing with perception and stereotypes. The objects presented by the gallery at the stand seem to be quite definite and understandable at first glance, however, upon closer examination they turn out to be not at all what they seem to be. The concept is designed to encourage the viewer to dialogue, to make him think about the nature of perception and the boundaries between functionality and art.

Among the exhibits is an armchair by ODINGENIY, deceptive in its apparent non-functionality, which nevertheless provides surprising comfort. The woven objects by Natalia Makarova, imitating textiles with their texture, are actually made of ceramic harnesses created in a unique author's technique, and the wall panels by Natalia Kosovets, resembling works of abstract art, are created from recycled textiles using the folding technique. On the very first day of the Palata Gallery exhibition, the armchair was noted by Collectible curator Mr Brecht Wright Gander (US) as one of the best objects of this year.
