Designer Katya Pyatitskaya, creator of the Laroque St studio, was born in 1992 in Moscow. She graduated from MArkhI and later from the Domus Academy in Milan, where she studied under the patronage of designer Patricia Urquiola. In 2015, she worked in Milan alongside Italian architects Fabio Accolini and Massimiliano Locatelli. Afterwards, she joined the Crosby Studio team led by Harry Nuriev. Currently, she promotes her own brand of carpets created using traditional weaving techniques.
The handmade carpet atelier, Laroque Studios, operates between Milan and Nepal, where production is located. The name was inspired by associations, and it holds a certain magic for me. Additionally, the word Laroque sounds like a chest or a jewelry box filled with treasures.
