Member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation. Born in Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkar Republic. In 2024, I relocated to Düsseldorf, Germany.
My work focuses on exploring new contexts for Circassian culture, freeing it from exotic perceptions, and integrating it into contemporary art. The main theme of my research is traditional Adyghe gold embroidery (dysha ide) and its reinterpretation through large-scale, experimental art projects.
Key projects include investigations into the visual heritage of Circassian culture, women's crafts, and modern design. In my work, I employ both traditional techniques (such as felting) and innovative approaches to representing Circassian identity through art.
Interdisciplinary contemporary artist, working with digital and metal, combining new and traditional media in a Russian style.
“Traditional Russian ornamentation represents not only an aesthetic expressive tool, but also a deep reflection reflecting the multi-layered identity of the Russian people.”
